Growing print group Southern Impact is launching a new packaging and label business, Onpack, specialising in self-adhesive labels for food, craft beer, industrial and chemical products.

Onpack becomes the fourth print company in Southern Impact group – which includes Southern Colour-  rounding out its specialist print offering.

Michael Nankervis, managing director at Southern Impact says, “Onpack is a natural evolution for Southern Impact, providing diversification into an exciting industry growth segment of short-to-medium run labeling.

“The addition of Onpack perfectly complements the other businesses within the Southern Impact family and provides our customers, both current and new, with another service offering from a trusted, cohesive print partner”.

The new business will focus on digital label printing, with the latest in digital print and converting technology, which it says will enable it to provide the market with short runs without the prohibitive set-up expense of conventional methods.

The company says it will reduce customers’ lead times, setup costs, working capital requirements and help eliminate obsolete inventory.

Using the latest in digital label technology, Onpack launches with digital printing to offline finishing capabilities including a Screen L350 UV inkjet label press, distributed by Jet Technologies, the Prati Digifast One and the Prati Saturn Omnia both distributed by Heidelberg

Peter Scott, managing director of Screen GP, says, “We have been associated with the Nankervis family for decades. We are pleased, along with our partner, Jet Technologies, to be going into the next generation of technology with Onpack. We are sure they are going to be successful with this new venture.”

Established in 2015, Southern Impact is the parent company of Southern Colour, Impact Digital, Intelligent Media and now Onpack.
