Women put faith in future of print

Women in Print’s annual breakfast series commenced early this morning in Sydney, with some of the most influential females in the printing industry gathering at the Establishment Ballroom.

The initiative congregates women in the print media industry for a networking event held annually in each major city. This year major sponsors included Media Super, IVE Group and Kwik Kopy.

Guests were welcomed by Visual Connections general manager Karen Goldsmith, who then introduced a panel of speakers to address the crowded room.

Speaking at the event was Blue Star’s national sales manager Natalie Taylor, Kwik Kopy centre owner Kate McConville and social entrepreneur and author Charlie Caruso.

The clear theme for this year’s breakfast series is challenging the myth plaguing the industry which claims print is dying.

A quick scan around the room at some 150 women passionate about print and keeping the industry alive is a testimony to the positive future that lies ahead.

Guest speakers recalled how a blend of business prowess and passion was the recipe for success in a turbulent industry. Taylor, McConville and Caruso inspired the crowd with tales of breaking the proverbial glass ceiling and rising as prominent businesswomen.

Tomorrow Women in Print Melbourne will be held, followed by the next day in Brisbane, Adelaide on May 17 and then Perth on May 18.
