Bank puts WA’s Supreme Printing into receivership

The company closed its doors last month and let 21 staff go. The three directors, Kym Radford and Morgan Pickworth and Steve Browne, were either unavailable or would not comment to ProPrint, despite numerous requests.

Dermott McVeigh and Gary Doran from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu were appointed as receivers on 22 July.

A Deloitte spokesperson told ProPrint there wasn’t enough money or assets at the company to cover the bank’s debt.

“The receivers and manager’s role is to realise the company’s assets to repay the debt owed to NAB pursuant to their fixed and floating security over the companies,” said the spokesperson.

“At this stage, it does not appear that there will be sufficient assets available to pay unsecured creditors.”

ProPrint spoke to a number of Perth print business owners, who said Supreme had been trying for a merger with Balcatta-based printer Lamb Print but this deal fell through.

Lamb Print director Steve Larcombe confirmed the company had taken on three former Supreme employees and was currently housing some of its machinery.

Note: Supreme Printing, incorporating Haymarket, is in no way related to ProPrint‘s publisher, Haymarket Media Australia.
