Lamson Paragon cuts power and waste, aims for SGP level 3

The accreditation applies to each of the group’s businesses, including trade mailhouse Cheque-Mates and rolls supplier Paper Rolls Australia, said Lamson Paragon shared services manager Rodney Frost.

“This achievement gives our channel partners the ability to know that their clients’ work is being produced in a high-quality, green-focused environment,” he told ProPrint.

“In the future we believe that this should be the minimum requirement for a communications business to exist. As such, we intend to work towards level 3 and quite possibly ISO 14001.”

Frost said Lamson Paragon was trying to cut power use by more than 30% through installing more efficient lighting.

He also said the group had reduced waste volumes by more than 10% since it started recycling plastic in 2011.

The focus on more efficient manufacturing has allowed Lamson Paragon’s clients to offer their customers cheaper and greener products, said Frost.

“We don’t see this as a tick in the box for just sitting on supply panels. The sustainability focus across our entire group is driven deep through our team’s culture with a genuine intent to be as green as we possibly can,” he told ProPrint.

“We have tangible results thus far and are continuing to expand on those.”
