MailEzy buys first Memjet envelope printer

Last week, MailEzy installed the first Neopost AS-950C machine in the country, supplied by GBC.

The machine has allowed the company to print full-colour envelopes runs up to 50,000 at its Maroochydore premises.

Managing director Nathan Koina said the AS-950C had given MailEzy “an edge”.

“Its full-colour quality is exceptional, we are getting results as good, if not better, than offset. People actually prefer it,” he said.

“We can produce full-bleed right to the edge of the envelope, which is tricky to achieve on offset.”

MailEzy was previously purchasing full-colour printed envelopes from Australian Office.

Koina said the supplier’s turnaround times seemed to have slipped due to the sharp increase in work since taking over the assets of Australian Envelopes.

GBC national sales manager Symon Cook said around 50 of the Neopost devices were being sold each month in the US, and the technology was seeing a rapid uptake in Australia.

“I’m selling as many as I can get,” he said.

“I’m selling them off samples, which are so good that when you view them in isolation, they appear to be printed lithographically.”

He added that to get a similar level of quality, a typical digital machine would need to run at one-fifth of the speed of the Memjet machine.
