Perth’s Quality Press vies for digital sales surge

The printer relocated to the site in the Perth suburb of Welshpool late last year, following its buyout of continuous forms supplier Pacific Printing.

The plant houses Quality Press along with its digital arm, Q Print Online, which last week celebrated a clutch of gold medals at the Western Australia PICA awards last week.

General manager Graeme Young said: “With the recent acquisition of Pacific Printing, Quality Press relocated its offset printing company to Welshpool with further plans to build another purpose-built factory on the site allowing Quality Press to implement its future plans.

“After installing the Kodak S5 variable date print heads on the continuous web machine in Pacific Printing and Q Print Online with digital Nexpress and Indigo 5500 machines, both of their budgets have been doubled for this financial year with an aggressive marketing and promotional campaign underway to assist them to achieve these goals,” he added.

Young said the company is also improving its environmental credentials by installing solar panels on the factory roof.

“Within 18 months, 35% of our electricity consumption will be self-generated by the solar panels producing 102 kilowatts and reducing our ever-increasing power bills and putting us on the front foot to reducing our carbon footprint and tax with the proposed new carbon tax by the Federal government.”
