Screen’s Truepress Jet SX gets global launch

The manufacturer is exhibiting the B2 press, which was shown as a prototype at Drupa in 2008, as well as new mono and colour additions to the Truepress platform.

According to Screen, the SX offers fast turnaround duplex printing with variable data capability for short-run jobs, and is being targeted at conventional printers and digital printers.

It offers print resolutions of up to 1,440dpi and output speeds of 1,620 simplex B2sph or 810 duplex B2sph, equivalent to 108 A4 pages a minute.

Tim Taylor, marketing manager at Screen Europe, said the SX’s pricing structure is still to be finalised, but he said it was unlikely to be a click charge model. “We plan to offer a traditional ownership model with three components – capital, ink and service,” he said.

On stand C290 in Hall 10, Screen has also given two other machines their global launches; the Truepress Jet520EX, a mono machine targeted at the on-demand direct mail and book printing markets, and the colour Truepress Jet520 CP.

The EX offers print speeds of up to 128m/min and a resolution of 720x360dpi. The CP, a 720dpi entry-level machine, is pitched at users that have lower print volumes but that want a route into the colour digital market.
