Spicers unveils new “photo-quality” stock

Spicers has introduced a new "photo-quality" stock designed for high-quality book printing on HP Indigo printers.

E-Photo Lustre is dust-resistant, water-resistant and has PEFC certification, according to Spicers.

"This affordable range of satin-matt PE-coated finish is HP-Indigo certified, meaning it has undergone rigorous testing and comes with the confidence of HP Indigo certification. The range has excellent colour reproduction and is printable on both sides."

Spicers' national sales manager for digital media, Roger Rankine, said E-Photo Lustre was perfect for photobooks and cookbooks that need "high-quality, photographic paper".

Meanwhile, the Paperlinx-owned company has expanded its Pacesetter range with Pacesetter DigiSyn, which Spicers said was the first PET synthetic grade available in a complete range of weights.

"Pacesetter DigiSyn is a tear-proof, water-, oil- and weather-resistant grade that can be used in dry toner printers. It is great for point-of-sale pieces, posters, shelf wobblers and books," according to Spicers.

"The grade has been designed to complement the current synthetic grades stocked by Spicers for HP Indigo, wide-format and offset printing."

Rankine said: "Normally, printers would need to offset print onto a synthetic grade with special inks. But with Pacesetter DigiSyn, small, cost-effective and flexible runs via dry toner digital printing are now possible."
