Starleaton appointed distributor for Alcan Composites

Alcan Composite’s Director of Sales & Marketing for Asia Pacific region, David Meacham signed the agreement with Starleaton’s Ben Eaton in Shanghai last week in the presence of Alcan’s Australasian Sales Manager, Campbell Hughes.

Hughes said, “There were several key reasons that contributed significantly towards the appointment of Starleaton as one of only two national distributors for Alcan Composites in the sign and display industry. Starleaton’s long and successful track record in managing premium brands, market focus and deep inventory commitment will both strengthen Alcan Composites’ position as global leader in the manufacture of high-performance substrates, and reinforce Starleaton’s position as a leading national supplier to the sign, display and design industry.”

With the huge increase in the use of flatbed direct digital printing for rigid displays, added to traditional uses such as screen printing, mounted cut vinyl and die-cutting; the Alcan Composites range is experiencing rapidly growing demand which Starleaton’s nationwide sales and distribution channels will fulfil.

Applications for the range of Alcan Composites include POP (point-of-purchase) display, exhibition, shopping mall and kiosk graphics, framing, architectural modelling, architectural panels, interior and exterior signage.

The lightweight and versatile properties of Alcan Composite materials are achieved by combining Polystyrene, PVC, Polyethylene, Polyurethane cores with wood-fibre, plastic or aluminium facers to yield totally stay-flat sheets in a variety of thicknesses, sizes and surfaces.

“Flatbed UV digital printers are proliferating all over the country,” said Eaton, “and we aim to service them with readily-available printable sheets at all price-points from the low-cost Foam-Core to the durable Forex & Kapa product lines.

Eaton said that the addition of Alcan Composites to Starleaton’s range of aqueous and solvent roll media for digital inkjet printing is a “fantastic coup” for the nationwide company.
