States finalise PICA plans

Each state office is currently finalising their submission deadline for award entries, as the presentation season kicks off in August.

Joe Kowalewski (pictured), Printing Industries national communication and technical services manager, said it was important that companies start to identify their best work for entry and not leave selection until the last minute.

“All entrants need to familiarise themselves with the categories available and the descriptions accompanying those categories to ensure their jobs are entered correctly,” he said.

“Learning from last year’s awards it was apparent that some entries were incorrectly categorised or had relevant information missing from the entry forms, particularly where multiple entries were concerned.

“This year some of the state award forms have been re-designed and some categories changed to make them easier to complete and integrate with the National Print Awards, so it’s important that whoever is completing the paperwork for companies takes the time to carefully read and complete the entry forms,” he added.

More information about the awards can be found on the Printing Industries website. A list of each state’s awards night is presented below:

Tasmania – 7 August

Western Australia – 28 August

South Australia and Northern Territory – 8 October

Victoria – 15 October

NSW – 5 November

ACT – 19 November

Queensland – 27 November
