Coordinator Diandra Gavillucci told ProPrint that the sixth edition of Heidelberg Women in Print had been “very successful” and would definitely return next year.

“It’s something that’s continuing to grow and we’re getting a lot of great feedback,” she said.

The roadshow started in Melbourne on 22 March, before moving on to Adelaide (23 March), Sydney (27 March), Brisbane (28 March) and Perth (30 March).

The biggest turnouts came in Sydney and Melbourne, which each attracted 152 women, Gavillucci said.

The nights featured sit-down dinners and networking, prizes and games. The guest speaker was West Australian barrister Judith Fordham, who Gavillucci described as “entertaining but inspiring at the same time”.

Fordham told the women that success in male-dominated industries was possible and that they should seize opportunities, even if it meant taking risks.

An international Women in Print event will be held at Drupa on 6 May.

Susan Heaney, managing director of  Gold Coast-based Heaneys Performers in Print, will be one of the five speakers.
